Loan agents doubling as realtors??!!

Several times this year, I've received offers from loan agents representing buyers as "selling agent" in transactions. What do you think about loan agents representing buyers in their real estate transactions and also earning fees from their loan financing?

I am not in the real estate business but I am aware of this practice and on the surface do not see the conflict of interest or any other reason to question the practice if the person is licensed to do business in both fields. Why should I care if he collects fees both as a loan officer and a real estate agent/broker if he is legitimate? If in serving as one role he can influence an outcome in the other role and it is to his advantage and not that of his client, then I do see a problem. Can anyone enlighten us on the subject?
