Fresno MLS CalRedd System Starts off Badly

The much anticipated Fresno MLS system, "CalRedd" has started today. So far, I'm not impressed. There are many problems with the new system. We are having issues with the data, searching and property reports are inaccurate. This system affects some 4000 Realtors in the Fresno area, including the public data feeds to my website www.FresnoHomes.net. We expected problems, however the way that they initiated the system was not the best. There is no backup system to use today. They should have had a transition period where our old system, "Rappatoni" would work and we could migrate to the new "CalRedd" system. That is not the case, and basically our business is somewhat paralyzed until we can get the data correct.

Hi, I wanted to add to your post about the CalREDD website. I'm a member of the Fresno Association of Realtors and I finally was able to login to CalREDD today. I have been a member of several different MLS websites in the past and I have to say that this one is probably the most disappointing. For Fresno to decide to switch to this new site with no "crossover" timeframe to use dual systems is ridiculous. The new website is slow and it is missing a whole bunch of functionality that the Rapattoni website had. Good luck to CalRedd on getting very many Associations to join this MLS! Take care.

Hi, It is too bad about this new system and it's interface with your website. One of the most fun and useful things I liked about your site was the ability to use the map to really narrow down search areas. This doens't seem able to do that. I hope that can be fixed.

Please be patient during the MLS transition. I'm confident that all the software issues, data errors, and search functions will be worked out in the coming days. It's frustrating, because it is taking days of working with it, to identify problem issues and resolve them. I will continue striving to provide the best online tool for the public to search Fresno real estate listings.

Yes, the system will eventually be corrected and funtional. In fact I am sure that it will. However it is totally irresponsible to convert to a system that has not been thoroughly tested, evaluated and deemed to provide an improved environment. For fifteen years my company was in partnership with IBM to assist in the sale of IBM hardware and software which resulted in numerous conversions to customized software. Prior to that I participated in several large conversions at the corporate level. Never have I seen such a colossal screw up as this. What was the motivation to convert to a system that was not ready for implementation?

FRESNO>>>CalREDD is any realtors worse nightmare! Our Board, NOT the members, chose this company. It came on line, Monday, August 17th…and it was and still is a disaster! This company has a long way to go before they are ready to begin to compete with Rapattoni.
We (a large number of unhappy Realtors) had a “Town Hall” meeting last Friday night, and after listening to the President of Concentric, Richard Igou, it almost appears his drive for this new system and company is more about his negative attitude regarding Rapattoni than it is about making our MLS system more efficient? He knew the system was not ready to launch and yet he went ahead and brought it on line…with absolutely no regard as to how it would “cripple” the Real Estate Agents, many who are struggling as it is and also in one of the busiest month of the year. Our President, Board of Directors and the MLS committee are as much to blame as Mr. Igou, as they obviously did not do a much if any “beta” testing and feel the more agents that use the system the faster the “glitches” and features will be solved, therefore they have refused to bring Rapattoni back on board.

After attending YET another "training" class today 8/25/09...it is obvious this company and the "trainer,” Justus Martin are fully aware of its problems and yet they are still insisting the members "LIMP" along with them.. while they continue to make corrections. As the "trainer" said today, he has a LONG list of fixes..and they will be fixed in the "order" he chooses. He will continue to give training on the upgrades, (more down time)therefore, insuring his job with BOTH the FAR and CalREDD(and the hell with the Appraisers and the Realtors jobs).

I sincerely hope this information helps another “MLS Board” to do a complete “due diligence” on this company and it’s founders as well as beta test the system before making a firm commitment on using it!(Or better yet..go another avenue) I have not read one piece of positive information on this Company, Concentric. I like most of the members "assumed" the FAR, the BOD and the MLS committee where looking out for the members...and not trying to make point with CAR!

It appears we are “stuck” with this System, as the 3 largest real estate firms in Fresno have multiple Realtors on the BOD and the MLS committee…and the President, Jared Martin’s, brother, Justus Martin is our (long term) “Trainer” and the one calling most of the shots over at Concentric, that “relationship” seems a little to close! The Phrase “guinea pigs” seems to be appropriate term for our Members at this time.

FAR decided to adopt CalRedd and then decided to pull the CalRedd MLS after only two weeks. Very frustrating. The CalRedd system was easy to use and the new features (maps, etc.) were very effective means to search for properties for my clients. The FAR BOD has no backbone and gave in to the demands of the largest RE firms in this town. The CalRedd MLS needed some tweaks, but worked fine. I actually had positive comments from clients who were getting property info from CalRedd. I am determined to bring CalRedd back to the Fresno Association of Realtors. Fresno had the opportunity to be a pioneer in adopting CalRedd.
